Adding and managing congregation
The system helps the admin prevent congregation dupes in the system. Congregations are meant to be as unique as they appear in "JW Hub". Please use real JW Hub congregation numbers to help preventing dupes.
Info
The congregation connection of publishers and the congregation information should reflect the real data.
Advantages
Publisher management gets easier especially for situations where a publisher uses different calendars.
If a publisher uses more than one calendar, each calendar coordinator can adjust the publisher's congregation connection. To not cause confusion, we decided to work this connection out like that.
Basic Information
Name of the congregation
This setting defines the primary text identifier for the congregation. It acts as the descriptive name used to distinguish this specific group from others within the system. It is a mandatory field when creating or updating a congregation.
Where it appears / Effect:
The Congregation Name is widely visible throughout the system. It appears in the list of available congregations during the initial onboarding process, as a prominent heading on the edit congregation page, inside dropdown menus, and within confirmation warning banners.
Congregation Number
This represents the unique numerical identifier assigned to the congregation. It serves as a strict linkage key. If a user enters an existing congregation number, the system prevents duplicate creation and offers to link to the already established congregation.
Where it appears / Effect:
The Congregation Number is primarily a functional element but is shown on the initial creation form, on the edit congregation page as an editable text field, and inside warning banners that appear if an administrator attempts to create a duplicate congregation.
Administration and Roles
Manager
This dropdown setting allows the administrator to designate a specific registered publisher as the primary overseer or manager for the congregation. Assigning a manager links that specific user's account to the congregation in a leadership capacity. It is an optional setting.
Where it appears / Effect:
This setting directly influences the internal hierarchy. The selected user's first and last name will appear as the selected option in the Manager dropdown menu on the edit congregation page.
Geographic Boundaries
Border KML
This feature allows an administrator to upload a .kml file containing geographic boundary data for the congregation's territory. The system processes this uploaded file to store the geographical limits of the congregation. The administrator can also choose to empty (delete) an existing boundary.
Where it appears / Effect:
The management interface for this feature appears specifically on the edit congregation page, located below the primary congregation details form. It presents an upload box that accepts .kml files.
